OUR APPROACH
At Acqua Panna we are committed to being responsible in everything we do.
We undertake to protect our water springs and their surrounding natural environment. We use water as sparingly as possible because every drop counts.
We seek the least impacting solutions for the packaging and transport of our products.
Our commitment starts from the measurement of environmental impact throughout the supply chain and translates into tangible projects we implement with enthusiasm.
This study is carried out based on the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method, in compliance with ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, and it enables us to analyse the CO₂eq emissions of a product throughout its entire life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to post-consumption. The results of the study are ratified by an independent third entity, to guarantee transparency and reliability.

CRAFTED BY NATURE
Acqua Panna flows for 14 years beneath the Tuscan hills, a landscape of eternal beauty, before gushing out at surface level. The depth of the aquifer enables water to flow at a very low and constant temperature which generates its unmistakable flavour, known and appreciated worldwide. Bottled directly at the spring, in the Municipality of Scarperia e San Piero in the Mugello Valley.

Every day, we conduct numerous tests to ensure that its purity and singular character remain unchanged over time. This is why, each time you open a bottle of Acqua Panna, you can be confident in its impeccable quality and unmistakable taste.
ALLIANCE FOR WATER STEWARDSHIP
Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) is the international standard for the management of water resources.* It acknowledges those companies that safeguard reservoirs, share knowhow and collaborate with the local communities to preserve and improve the quality of water and the surrounding environment. We can proudly say that the Acqua Panna plant obtained certification for the first time in 2022.

*An international organization consisting of company representatives, non-profit organizations, government departments and academic institutions that cooperate towards preserving the environmental sustainability of reservoirs worldwide. AWS certification is achieved following an auditing process, which is then renewed periodically.
WE WORK TO ACHIEVE MAXIMUM RESPECT AND MINIMUM WASTE
The plant of Scarperia e San Piero has adopted an ISO 14001 environmental management system that monitors and optimizes energy consumption, emissions, water consumption and waste management. Down through the years, projects have been developed to improve efficiency and optimize production flows. Moreover, 100% of the electric power purchased by Acqua Panna comes from renewable sources that are RECs-certified*.

*A RECs (Renewable Energy Certificate System) certificate is an official document that certifies and guarantees the renewable source of the energy produced.
OUR COMMITMENT IN THE AMBIT OF PACKAGING
To guarantee the quality, safety, and properties of our mineral water, we have chosen to use glass and PET plastic bottles, these materials being completely recyclable time and time again. Moreover, we use recycled raw materials to produce our bottles: on average 50% R-PET (recycled PET)*, 48% of recycled glass for clear bottles and 60% for green bottles. Finally, we promote the glass bottle return system: about 90% of the glass placed on the Italian market by Acqua Panna returns to the plant. Here these bottles are washed and reused.

BIODIVERSITY ON OUR ACQUA PANNA ESTATE
The Acqua Panna estate, 70% of which is forestland, absorbs CO₂eq naturally. To extend the scope of its role we have implemented a partnership with the Sant’Anna Upper Secondary School in Pisa, for the purpose of developing innovative agricultural and forestry practices. Furthermore, the Estate hosts a rich ecosystem of autochthonous flora and fauna, comprising protected species, as evidenced in a research by Federparchi, our partner in the ambit of biodiversity studies and protection.
