50 Best Recovery Summit sponsored by Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino
Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino have been partners of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants for many years, and are co-founders of the 50 Best for Recovery program and sponsors of the 50 Best Recovery Summit. From October 13- 15, this online forum brought the global food community together across various digital platforms to explore the restaurant sector's road to recovery.
It all began on Tuesday, October 13 with Food Meets Hope. Created by S.Pellegrino, this event featured such gastronomic luminaries as Daniel Humm, Dominique Crenn, Richard Ekkebus and Daniela Soto-Innes outlining their hopes for a fresh gastronomic paradigm.
The following day, Julien Royer, Clare Smyth and others took part in a #50BestTalks entitled Rewriting the Menu, which provided a forum for discussion around changing ingredients, menus and culinary outlooks in a post-pandemic world.
Then on Thursday, October 15, New Horizons explored the future of fine dining, inclusivity and recognition. The session included a session on sustainability and a keynote address by food editor and writer Jamila Robinson.
Each day of the Summit also included a 50 Best Masterclass with top chefs and bartenders - including Kyle Connaughton and Lennox Hastie - and a live interview on Instagram presented by S.Pellegrino. Centered around the theme of 'Visions of Recovery', the interviews featured Bjorn Frantzén of Frantzén in Stockholm and Zén in Singapore, May Chow of Little Bao in Hong Kong and Bangkok, and Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park in NYC.
